The Halfway House offers those who struggle in society the hope of reintegration. A small residential hub, the house is a long-stay therapy centre aimed at helping those with anxiety and agoraphobia. An outlier to the new settlement, it is reached by a river path at low tide or via boat to a small docking station when the tide is high.
The entire construction, including its structure and finishes, is made of local Norfolk timber. The piles form a causeway space connecting and continuing into each room. Each building celebrates the material, slowly weathering with constant abrasion from the salt laden environment. By 2050, silvered and weathered, the rooms will disappear into the rush laden landscape.
